The discrimination and ageism in the workplace absences course is designed to help managers deal with equality, diversity, discrimination of all types. It will enable managers to understand the law, and how to effectively integrate this law into their current practice.

10:30 – 11:30 What is Discrimination? (What a manager needs to know about direct and indirect discrimination)

10.00 – 10:30 Understanding Equal Opportunity and Diversity – key legislation and policies (Everything you need to know about the current legislation, and who will be affected)

11.30 – 12.00 Managing Diverse Teams (Dealing with diverse groups and how to effectively manager)

12:00 – 13:00 Understanding Harassment – how is it defined, what does it include, and what are the implications? (understanding the different forms of harassment)

14:00 – 15:00 How to avoid Bullying and Harassment
(techniques to ensure that you have under control)


15:00 – 15:30 The Recruitment Selection Process how to avoid discrimination (Effective selection process, interviewing, questioning, and listening skills: developing a checklist)

15:30 – 16:30 Case Studies and Role Plays – looking at real life situations and how they need to be approached for maximum results.

16:30 Summary and Action Plans Agreed
